Attorney

In Cheyenne since 2010, I was raised on Brush Creek in Saratoga, Wyoming.  I graduated from high school is Saratoga, Wyoming and went on to earn a Business Management degree from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon.  A student of Willamette College of Law in Salem, Oregon, I worked in an AV-rated firm in Oregon for over 20 years.

While at Willamette, I completed the College of Law's preeminent program on Alternative Dispute Resolution based on the Harvard Negotiation Project.  The program includes Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration and Advanced Topics in Conflict Theory.  The program remains in the top ten in the country for training of dispute resolution.  I have mediated disputes with the courts in Oregon, with an over 90% resolution rate.  I use these skills to provide superior results to my clients, whether settling a case or going to court.

Since returning to Wyoming, I have had my own firm.  I have also assisted Legal Aid of Wyoming in a variety of cases, and have mediated for Equal Justice of Wyoming.  I have also worked as a former bank officer and corporate trustee.

Why I decided to practice law:  Since I was a child, I liked figuring out what something says and applying it!   Now, I like helping find workable solutions through creative thinking, collaboration, a lot of patience, and with a lot of outstanding coaching from a wonderful mentor I had that taught me how to read and interpret documents.

Combining that with negotiation and mediation skills helps me help families and property owners determine and resolve their issues--which is very rewarding!

Ways I can help you:

  • I've spent over 175 hours a year on continuing education in advanced topics in real property, business, trust and tax;
  • I set out a resolution plan so that you know what the procedure will be, the time involved and the cost;
  • I am prepared to answer your questions about real property, estates, trust and business and how to protect it in Wyoming;
  • I know how to successfully integrate your estate plan.

The people I help are those planning for the future, people with children and grandchildren, people building their business and wishing to protect it, tenants, landlords, and persons remaining after a loved one has passed away.

I like handling these kinds of cases because I have lived around people working the land or their businesses all of my life and I have observed people I care about striving to go forward for their families.  I'm enthusiastic and exciting about helping you determine the next steps for your plans!

Some of the things I have accomplished include:   helping grandparents make an estate plan for their only adult child and grandchildren after losing a son; helping business owners set up a limited liability company to protect their family's assets that they have accumulated and work hard for for decades; determining boundary lines of property to settle family disputes.

Outside of work, I am an animal advocate for all kinds of animals.  I like to snow shoe and I paint.

I have helped many people sort out their business issues and look forward to helping you with your questions.
